If you wanted to make this even easier there is 1 simple mod you can add to your single player game (Teleport pad) which will allow you to teleport you and any dino in the pad area to another pad of the same name. Even better, you can just make a mini base at the volcano to process the ore obsidian crystal etc there to then craft items to take back to your main base.
